Diary of an August Coworker

(a.k.a. How I accidentally discovered my dream office… when everyone else went on vacation)

August 1^st

It’s official – the city is empty. My group chats are full of “Currently in Greece ” and “BRB, island life.”

And me? I’m here. In Sofia. In the office. Alone. But not sad-alone. More like… unexpectedly peaceful alone?

Also: no traffic. None. I got home to the office in 9 minutes. Personal best.

August 5^th

Walked into Work&Share this morning and guess what? No line for coffee. No “Can you move your charger?” No double-booked rooms. Just me, my cappuccino, and a kitchen full of clean cups – coffee mugs and water glasses. When does that ever happen?

August 7^th

I tried working from the garden at Work&Share Tintyava. Never go back inside. There’s Wi-Fi, real shade, birds chirping like a meditation app, and zero coworkers asking, “Are you in this meeting?”

August 9^th

The legendary big meeting room? I booked it. Just me, my laptop, and 8 chairs I didn’t need but I emotionally enjoyed. Also: I brought my lunch and ate it in peace. No crowd. No missing forks. No eye contact. Heaven.

August 12^th

I Tried the kitchen at exactly 1 PM – the time that usually requires a battlefield strategy. But it was… empty. I found a microwave, a fork, and yes – a glass for water. I didn’t even have to rinse someone else’s lipstick off of it first.

August 15^th

AC? Mine. Music? Chill beats. Mood? Unreasonably good for someone not on vacation.

August 20^th

I’ve fully claimed a favorite seat. Barista knows my name. I have a designated cup now.

This isn’t just coworking anymore. This is a summer affair.

Also: for the first time ever, the “Gorata” room in Work&Share Synergy is mine — and only mine.

August 26^th

This might be the most relaxed, productive, hydrated month I’ve ever had. Note to self: next year, don’t rush for the beach. Just come to Work&Share in August and let everyone else fight for shade and Wi-Fi.
